Depth Psychological Individual Explorations & IDIs
The free-guided, non-directive conversation based on an open catalog of topics in the depth psychology individual exploration adapts to the subjective experience of the interviewee. The relaxed atmosphere of the conversation, the appreciative attitude of the interviewer and the use of projective or associative questioning techniques allow the interviewer access to difficult-to-verbalize and not immediately conscious attitudes and needs of the interviewee. By contrast, IDIs are much more topic-centered and structured. Due to the personal conversation situation a strong thematic deepening is possible, also attitudes to “sensitive” topics can be identified.
